Sometimes You Need a Do-Over. And, That's Okay

I woke up to a beautiful morning and I was excited to make the most of it. Unfortunately, things didn't go as I had planned and I let some annoyances take control of my morning & get the best of me. I then became further annoyed that my beautiful morning had been ruined. It was not a good way to start the day and definitely not a good way to start the week. I needed a do-over.

To start, needed to clear my head and focus on all the positives in my life. Yes, you've heard me (& probably others) say it before—happiness starts with gratitude. So, I listed things I am grateful for. It's a long list. If I focus on the list, I feel lucky. And, when I feel lucky, it's hard to complain.

While I didn't gain back the first few hours of my morning, I did put them behind me and take back control of my day. And, I was able to move forward in a positive and productive manner—a MUCH better way to start to my week.

Sometimes you need a do-over. And, that's okay. It's better to start over than to continue down the wrong / negative path. This refers to all things. From small things—like mornings that go awry, to not-so-small things—like falling off your healthy eating or exercise routine, to really big things—like bad relationships or career moves.

A do-over isn't always easy. It takes focus, discipline, and possibly strength of will, and time. But, your ultimate goal is (or should be) to live a happy and fulfilling life. So, it's worth the effort.

Do you need a do-over? Don't wait any longer. Do it now. Don't think of it as a setback. Think of it as taking control of your life. Think of it as a course correction that will improve your life. You will move forward, on a more positive and productive path. And, you'll be happy you did :)
